The Lymphatic System
Welcome to the 14th issue of the Aha Atlas Newsletter! This month, we both got Covid. Yeesh. The upside is that we were inspired to create this issue about the lymphatic system and its magical powers (like helping you fight disease).
Learn about the lymphatic system, and how to create a workout to support lymphatic health. Then move with Talese in a delicious mini-class designed to stimulate lymphatic flow. Grow your self-care arsenal with Kai-Ting by learning how to do facial gua sha (a lymphatic drainage technique that feels aaah-mazing). Finally, chill with Talese as she answers 10 Questions. This is a feel-good issue. We hope you enjoy. 💋

Facial gua sha is Kai-Ting’s favorite self-care ritual. It works by stimulating lymphatic drainage. And it feels heavenly. Join her in this video, where she walks you step by step through her facial gua sha routine.
You’ll need a gua sha tool and some facial oil. If you already have a facial oil you love, use that. We’ve also linked some tool and oil options below.
Facial Gua Sha Tools
Mount Lai Rose Quartz Lifting Tool | Rose quartz has a cooling effect. This is the most affordable option on the list.
Osea Sculptor | Love the simple shape of this one.
Wildling Empress Stone | Made of bian stone, which is sturdier than the other options. This is the tool Kai-Ting uses.
Facial Oils
NOW Solutions Almond Oil | A classic massage oil for the face or body.
MUN Argan Oil | Kai-Ting’s been using this for years. Per ounce, it’s better value than the small bottles you get from the big beauty brands.
Wildling Empress Oil | This one’s a splurge. It smells incredible.
Chill

10 Questions
Hi all! I’m Talese, co-founder of Aha Atlas. Follow us on Instagram @ahaatlas (and feel free to 👀 my personal account @talese.pilates).
I’m answering our 10 questions this month.
Favorite book or movie? Footloose (the original). I love to dance, it has a great soundtrack, a good message, and killer '80s nostalgia.
Last workout you did? Retrosweat. The most entertaining workout I've ever done. Did I mention I love the '80s?
One thing you do for self-care. Baths completely drain my stress away. I add Epsom salt and a CBD bomb when I'm especially fatigued.
Teaser or Swan? I'm better at Teaser so I need Swan!
Dream place to visit? Bali. I learned in a college course that the Balinese don't have a word for "art" because artistic creations are inseparable from their daily life. I thought, I have to go there!!!
One thing most people don’t know about you? I stopped dancing for 7 years after high school because I wasn't sure I wanted it to be my career. I'm so grateful I was able to get my strength and conditioning back to dance professionally after such a long hiatus!
Mountain or sea? Mountains. I grew up in Utah, which has huge mountains, and I am a mountain girl. My ultimate would be to live on a mountain lake, vacation at the sea!
Best piece of advice you’ve received? I think the best life advice is context dependent, but one of my favorite quotes is from a Cat Stevens song – "...if they were right, I'd agree, but it's them they know, not me…" In other words, trust yourself!
Celebrity crush? Luke Wilson and Elle Fanning
Best thing to happen to you today? A friend was there for me in a moment of need. She had context-dependent advice that was perfect!
